Charity

8.12.16

The most wonderful time of the year has came round again so fast! It just seem's like yesterday when I was taking down the stockings from the fireplace from last Christmas. I love this time of year, not just for the novelty of Christmas, but it seem's to be when people are most charitable.

I've been thinking about doing something else for charity for a while now. As my reader's will be aware, I absailed down the Forth Rail Bridge in Edinburgh for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and I also volunteered at the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home for a while.

I really want to be a volunteer for Age UK. I can be put through to one of their service users and have a little natter on the phone with them for thirty minutes a week. But I also really want to do something for a charity that is something personal to me, such as Coeliac UK or SAMH (Scottish mental health charity).

I understand that especially at Christmas that people want to do their bit, but everyone needs to consider what any charity would do for the rest of the year. If you support even one charity this Christmas-time, please make a New Year's resolution and keep fundraising.
