Struggling to Sleep

26.7.16

Ever struggled to sleep? I think I do so every night. Sometimes my heart is racing too much as I get anxious, sometimes I have too much on my mind, sometimes it can be the simple things like its too hot or too cold!

Usually when this happens, I just go on my phone (I know, not the best thing to do!), but I discovered something one day on YouTube. Not a lot of people understand this form of art and it's very difficult to explain, but on that one sleepless night, I discovered ASMR.

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It is usually experienced through a relaxing tingling in the scalp and the back of the neck and can extend into the rest of the body.

There are loads of ASMR Artists on YouTube but it depends what preferences you have. Some people can feel relaxed and tingly just listening to sounds such as slow crinkling paper. Other people can watch role play videos that nobody speaks in. There is so much to choose from!

In London, it's starting to become a form of therapy, I'm just waiting for it to come to Edinburgh as I'd be first in the queue.

Here are my go-to ASMR Artists when I can't sleep, in no particular order:

  • (Fe)Male ASMR - A beautiful European couple who mostly cover role play
  • Whisper Latina ASMR - A gorgeous woman who does my favourite medical role plays and covers raw tingles too
  • Whispers Red ASMR - I love her channel so much and I hope she becomes a therapist in ASMR, I would go see her!
  • Heather Feather - her accent relaxes me alone
  • Tony Bomboni - For me, he's the only man who can get me to sleep with ASMR
Let me know if you decide to watch any videos from my suggested Artists! Is there any Artists you can recommend me to watch?
