Five ways I take time out


I'm always a busy bee whether its work, college, spending time with Calum, family and friends, etc. I just can't seem to get my brain to just stop and take time away from everything sometimes. So I thought I would write a few things I do to just "escape the norm".
1. Getting my nails and eyebrows done
Every three weeks I pop into the beauty salon, which I have been going to for about 5 years now, to get my nails and eyebrows done. My nails are Calgel, which doesn't ruin your nails (yay), with a shellac colour on top. The colour in this photo is Field Fox. They take about an hour to put on, but they make me feel like me when they're on and I love having a catch up with the girls! Regarding my eyebrows, they are HD. This means they are dyed, waxed, threaded and tweezed to achieve the perfect colour and shape.

2. Reading
I used to be an avid reader when I was younger but my attention span for it now isn't exactly great unless the book can grip me from the start. I enjoy reading history books or books like Anne Frank's Diary. I'm going to purchase either The Lost Tudor Princess or Victoria soon as I need a new book to get into. Sometimes I also like reading smaller books, like from the author John Green, etc. But non-fiction is where my loyalties lie.

3. Catching up or starting box sets
Since getting Netflix I've worked my way through Orange is the New Black and Pretty Little Liars, but I know I have a couple episodes of PLL from the new series I haven't seen yet so that's next on my agenda! Once I have caught up I'll probably start on another box set, I was thinking Making of a Murderer or Jessica Jones.

4. Pamper nights
I either do this myself or with my friends, I've even roped Calum in once! But there's nothing better than putting a refreshing mud mask on, painting your toes and just relaxing!

5. Having an early night
Sometimes this is just necessary. I've noticed for the past few days I have been falling asleep at 9:30 at night, when I usually don't go to sleep until about 11-ish. I feel so much more relaxed and refreshed in the morning instead of going off to work feeling like a zombie.
