Pinspiration - The Bedroom Edition

Calum and I have been saving up for a deposit for a home for a little while now, and luckily where we live there are schemes we can join so the cost is less.

As we are getting nearer to our goal, we have been discussing interiors a lot, so much so I'm beginning to annoy him haha!

We have always said we want it to be a cosy little safe haven, but we can't decide on how it would look. Calum likes the modern look, and I prefer vintage/farmhouse look. We are trying to combine both our ideas together so we can both enjoy picking things.

I thought I would start with the bedroom. We both want the bedroom to be white or another light colour. All the storage furniture such as the chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and dressing table are the IKEA Malm Series in white, and the bed is the Leirvik bed frame. We are quite happy starting off with this, but I'm hoping once we have got a home and got the rest of the house furniture, we can put all this into the guest room.

I think I want to keep the bed as I love the detail and how feminine it makes the room. I do like the Hemnes series for bedroom furniture, such as this chest of eight drawers, the dressing table, etc. My only worry is switching dressing tables, as the Malm one I currently have has a lot of storage space, but this one doesn't.

I'm also obsessed with metallic just now such as rose gold, so I know I need to incorporate this into the bedroom! I might suggest to Calum about having some sort of gallery wall, as the bedroom is all white, to break it up a little. I quite like the art prints on  Kate La Vie's shop and on  Rifle Paper Co. There are also lovely bits and pieces on Etsy too!
I would love a little corner of the room for a dressing area, such as a  simple rail with some clothes and a  big mirror.

One thing I know for certain is that we will have a lot of throw cushions, blankets and a string of fairy lights, there's nothing better than a cosy Sunday morning cuddle being wrapped up! I've had my eye on this gorgeous blanket and this cute one from John Lewis for a while now, so I might pick it up as luxury items for our own little nest.

The one thing we couldn't agree on is what the flooring would be like in this room. I quite fancied a dark wooden floor with a big rug, but Calum would like a carpet. I think I'm warming to the idea of a carpet, maybe a beige or cream coloured one to go with the light airy feel of the room.

What do you think of my ideas?
