Hello 2016!

Two thousand and sixteen. I can't believe how the years have flown by already!

I spent my Hogmanay in a lovely little pub and restaurant called the Granary, just down by the shore in Edinburgh. Once we saw the bells coming in, we stood next to the water and watched the fireworks from the castle and some that people set off next to the Water of Leith. Calum and I then came back home and watched some films.

When I woke up the next day, my mind was in overdrive. This is the year, my year. I just feel it. I thought of all the things I want to do and achieve this year and I'm already excited to get the ball rolling..

01. To lose weight and be fitter. I know what people are thinking, EVERYONE says this! Since eating gluten free food, I've put a little bit of weight on but I feel so much better medical wise. Calum and I have decided to do this together, so it may be a bit harder to give up.

02. To have our own home. I'm determined to save up for a mortgage so Calum and I can get a lovely house together. We are hoping for a house near the countryside or by the beach. My ideal home is a cottage but they are very limited and a bit out our price bracket, so we may have to wait until retirement for that.

03. To give up alcohol permanently at 25. I'm not much of a drinker anyway, but I don't see why anyone would need it in their life anyway. I see people around me drink every weekend and it causes nothing but trouble. I decided as soon as I turned 18 that I would give it up for good at 25, so I have until May to have a final night out!

04. Do more charity work. Last year, I abseiled down the Forth Rail Bridge to raise funds for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and I also volunteered at the Edinburgh Cat & Dog Home were I done three full day shifts so far. I plan to do more day shifts with them in the future, but I also want to raise funds for another charity too, so I will be keeping an eye out for opportunities.

What's your goals and resolutions this year?
